He is taken care of by his foster mother and father. They lost their own three children at an early age and enjoy taking care of Zohar. The family receives cash assistance each month, since the UNICEF and Department of Social Services program began a pilot program in June 2018. UNICEF and the Department of Social Services launched an integrated case management and cash assistance program in June 2018, benefitting 4,200 children and 3,000 foster caregivers. Cash assistance is provided to foster families of separated, unaccompanied and child headed households. This project will expand in 2019 to target 9,000 refugee children and help vulnerable families.
