When her mother remarried, she had to go and live with her new husband’s family. They have 11 family members living in their small shelter. They receive monthly support through the UNICEF and Department of Social Services integrated case management and cash assistance program. This program was launched in June 2018, benefitting 4,200 children and 3,000 foster caregivers. Cash assistance is provided to foster families of separated, unaccompanied and child headed households.
